Nicole Dockey, DVM

Dr. Nicole Dockrey is an alumnus of Carleton College in Northfield, MN, and graduated cum laude and Phi Zeta as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After four years in general companion animal practice and two years with Eli Lilly and Company pharmaceuticals, she found her calling in companion animal emergency and critical care medicine. Dr. Dockrey consulted for and taught basic and advanced tactical veterinary medicine for the Cypress Creek EMS Advanced Tactical Team for seven years, and continues to teach this subject on a limited basis for medics in the U.S. Army and National Guard. Dr. Dockrey also served as the secretary for the Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association for four years, and is the current president of the Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association.
After working in cooperation with Dr. Elaine Caplan while at the Animal Emergency Clinic of Central Texas, Dr. Dockrey joined the Capital Area Veterinary Specialists in June 2008, where she provides overnight postoperative and critical care for the patients there. Dr. Dockrey is married to her husband John Dockrey, an active member of the US Army and National Guard, and together they have one son, Andrew, and two cats, Felix and Flauta. They enjoy outdoor activities, live music, cooking, reading, and movies.
